April Favorites

Hey guys!

Can you believe it’s almost the end of April?? Where has the time gone!! On the bright side, May is my birthday month.. 🎉 🙂

Anyway! April has brought many new products/fun things to try, so here is a compilation of the things I have enjoyed most in April with a quick review of each!!

– Tommy Bahamas Maui Mango Scented Candle

– Bath & Body Works A Thousand Wishes Body Lotion

– Neutrogena Skin-Clearing Oil Free Concealer

– Two’s Company Fiesta Hand & Nail Cream

– Moroccan Oil Intense Curl Cream

Not gonna lie, this candle is probably my favorite product on this list. First of all, it’s smell is just so.. Mango-y and summery. It reminds me of Hawaii (I absolutely LOVE Hawaii) so smelling it makes me happy. I also think they have other scents, like pineapple (have to try that !). I light this candle all the time, and the smell is just so relaxing and nice. If you don’t feel comfortable lighting a candle in your room or in your house, you can also just leave the candle open . The smell will soon circulate around the room!!

(The link to buy the candle is not the exact same product as what I have, but it is similar and smells exactly the same. If you really want the same thing that I have look in the Tommy Bahamas stores).

I really love this product. Not only does it smell AWESOME, but it really helps keep skin soft. I sometimes even use the lotion as a perfume, just because I love the way it smells so much. The packaging and color of the lotion (pink!) is really cute and girly, and just putting it on makes me feel good, but I don’t know if it’s just me. I definelty recommend stopping by your local Bath & Body Works store to try it out. I also heard that it is apparently voted for best product by customers, so..

This product is a lifesaver. How it works is you take the cap off and then use the little twisty thing at the bottom to get out more concealer. Then dab it onto your face and blend it in with a brush. It’s sort of a liquidy concealer, which I like because I feel like it provides better coverage for blemishes, but if you’re not really into that I think Neutrogena has some other concealers also. Anyway, this concealer has been my best friend this past month, and I am SO happy I bought it!!

This hand cream is awesome. Not only does it smell great, but it leaves your hands feeling soft and hydrated. I also really love the packaging, it seems so happy 🙂 (I’m weird that way 😂). The fiesta hand cream comes in a set of three, as is seen is in the link above, but I used two already, so as you see in the picture below there is only one 😬😂

Let’s just start out by acknowledging the amazing-ness of this product. For anyone who is like me, with naturally curly hair, this product will become your best friend. After I wash my hair, I massage it in my hair and leave it to dry. A few hours later (or when I wake up), my hair looks curly and there is little to no frizz, which can be a big problem for people with curly/wavy hair. The product is sort of like a leave in conditioner, but better.

Here’s a picture of all the products together:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE all of the products listed in this post, and really encourage you guys to check them out! I left links at the top in case you are interested in buying them. Have a good weekend and see you Wednesday!!

Wonderful Wednesday – Girls Can Do Anything!

Hey guys!

Happy Wednesday 🙂

Sometimes don’t you feel (especially if you’re a girl) that women don’t get acknowledged enough? We do so much, but a lot of the time everyone thinks that only men can do things. Like remember when only men could vote? That’s not fair.

(and I’m not writing this post to make men look bad. I think they’re great, but I also think women are equally as great and not everyone sees that)

I believe that a woman can do anything a man can do, no matter how difficult it is. About a month ago, the drain of my bath broke. My dad helped me fixed it, and all was well until earlier this week, when the same thing happened again. My dad wasn’t home, and my brother told me to wait until he got back so that he could fix it because it was too hard for me. For some reason that really upset me, and I decided to try to fix the bath myself. After about half an our, I figured out how the drain worked and succesfully fixed it.

This isn’t the best example, but I just want to prove my point that girls really can do anything (I’m a huge feminist obvi 😂)

Comment down below if you agree, and if you’re a girl share your story of when you did something that “only men can do.” Thanks for reading ❤️

Wonderful Wednedsay Intro !

Hey guys!

Hope you’ve had a good week so far. I know that Wednesday isn’t usually the day I post things on this blog, but I’ve been thinking and decided I’m going to add another mini-post series (that’s what we’ll call it).

Every Wednesday I am going to do a mini-post about something that gives a good vibe. It could be a quote, a picture… Anything really!!

So look forward to both #wonderfulwednesday and #feelgoodfriday every week!

For my first  Wonderful Wednesday post, I have decided to post a quote that I thought was really nice. Here it is:

In case any of you don’t know, Zoe Sugg (also known as Zoella) is a youtuber who talks about everything from fashion to ways to make your life better. She is my absolute favorite youtuber, and when she said this in one of her videos I had a “OH MY GOD” moment (if you get those too).

Anyway, this quote gets you thinking metaphorically about being nice to people. I’m pretty sure the metaphor is that if you blow out someone else’s candle it makes the room darker, and you don’t want to do that!!

After reading this quote, I promised myself to be nice to people. And so far, I have been, and I can see that people are happier.

So say something nice to someone and make their day! Light someone else’s candle and make the room shine brighter! (Wow this a great metaphor ! 🙂 )

Have you ever done something nice for someone that  made them really happy? What do you think of this quote? Let me know in the comments!

Skin Care

Hey guys!

Hope you’ve had a good week!

So let’s talk skin care.

I know we all suffer/have suffered from acne at one time or another. Pimples are just so.. Annoying!! (Especially when they happen right before a big event 😁)

Some of you may be in need of ways to keep your skin fresh and clean, so you can always look your best. I have a nighttime skin routine that I always do, and it really helps with keeping my skin clear.

~ If you want to use one of these products, I’ll leave links to them all below, so that you’ll be able to order them if they’re not available where you live ~

The products I use are: (keep in mind that I don’t use all of them at once)

– Skin purifying astringent

– Clearasil Ultra 5-In-One Pads

– Johnson&Johnson Clean & Clear Persa-Gel 10

– Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Redness Soothing Facial Cleanser

– Lemon juice (sounds weird, but I’ll explain)

Ok, so let’s do a quick review of these products so that you can see which one will work for you!

Skin Purifying Astringent

First of all, let’s just take a moment to acknowledge how great the product is. What it does is that when you apply it, it cleanses your pores, getting rid of all the dirt and oil on your face. (At some parts of your face, such as where there is acne, it might sting a little, but that is ok. The astringent is just doing its job). This product is available at your local drug store (I got mine at CVS).

How To Use: To use this product, take a cotton ball or something similar, pour some astringent onto it, and gently rub it on your face. I recommend using this after you do sports, after parties… If you’d like, you can even use it every day.

Clearasil 5-In-One Pads

I am in love with this product. It’s sort of like a wipe, but smaller and better. What is does it that when you rub it on your face, it gets rid of dirt and oil. Getting rid of all this stuff is important, because it is what causes pimples!! I also really like how it smells (I am SO weird, I know 😂), but it just gives off a clean-feeling vibe. This product is available pretty much anywhere  (I got mine from Target).

How To Use: This product is quite simple to use. It comes in a case where you screw off the lid, so after you do that, just take out one of the pads (there are a lot in there), and gently rub it onto your face (make sure not to rub too hard !) I use this product every day, because it clears the skin without drying it.

Clean&Clear Persa-Gel 10

I don’t use this product every day, only when I have pimples. This product has benzoyl-peroxide in it, and it even says on the package not to use it unless you have pimples (I made the mistake of doing this once, and my skin got really red and started peeling). That being said, this product is affective in quickly getting rid of blemishes. Every time I use it I know that my skin will be back to normal in a few days (sometimes even shorter!) Remember that you just have to be patient. This product is available at your local drug store (I don’t really remember where I got mine).

How To Use: This product is also very simple to use. It comes in a little bottle (I’m not sure if that’s the right word though) that you gently squeeze. Out comes white cream that you put on your finger and apply to where it is needed. Then just leave it alone and it will do its job. (Note: As this product stands out on your face because it is white, I recommend using it at night before you go to sleep. That way, the product has time to clear your skin without any daily activities getting in the way).

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Redness Soothing Facial Cleanser

That is a LONG name, I know. But this cleanser is my best friend. What is does is that it cleanses your skin (which is pretty vague, but I’ll explain). Think about it this way: when you take a shower and wash your body with soap, the soap is cleaning your body right? This is the same thing, only for your face. I also really like the smell of this product (here we go again with the smell 😂). I think there are different flavors, but I have the green apple one and I absolutely LOVE it!! This product is available at your local drug store (I got mine from Target).

How To Use: This product has just a tiny bit more work than the others. What you do is you wet your face completely with warm water (this opens up your pores so the cleanser can clean them). I recommend using the product while in the shower, so that your face is already wet and your pores are already opened. After your face is wet, pump a little bit of the product onto your hands (it comes in a bottle) and rub it together until it looks like soap. Then gently rub it all over your face for a few minutes with your hands. After you are done with this, wash the product off completely. This is very important because if you don’t wash all the product off it is not good for your skin and makes it feel really weird and tight.

Lemon Juice

This method for quickly getting rid of pimples is all natural and fast working. Lemon juice might not sound like the most appealing thing to put on your face, but trust me it works (if you have sensitive skin, don’t use this method. The juice will only make your skin irritated). When applied, the lemon juice dries out the pimple. This is good because it reduces the size and redness of the pimple. Make sure only to apply to the where is needed. It’s not good to put lemon juice on your skin where it isn’t needed ! (it might harm your skin). Just a note, when you first apply the juice, it may sting a little, but that’s ok! The lemon juice has acid in it, that’s why. Don’t freak out like I did!😂 This product is available anywhere that food is sold (ex. your local supermarket)

How To Use: This method isn’t that hard to use. First you simply cut a lemon in half and squeeze the lemon juice into a small bowl. Then take a cotton ball or something similar (don’t use your fingers unless you have really cleaned them thoroughly) and dip it in the lemon juice. Gently dab the cotton ball to the pimple and leave it alone. You can do this method during the day when you are doing work at home, doing homework, or watching TV for example.

Hope that these products/methods helped you! They definetly do whenever I use them.  All of these products are great, and are a good way to make sure your skin is always looking it’s best.

DIY Home Decor

Hey guys!

Hope you’re having a great morning/day/night wherever you are in the world!!

So this week I have been feeling super DIY-y (is that even a thing?) and decided to consult Pintrest for some DIY ideas.

I came up with some cool, easy ideas to DIY your home. Here we go:

1. Melted Crayon Art

This is a super fun and creative way to bring lots of color into you home. Melted crayon art is one of my favorite DIYs ever!!

You will need:

– A canvas

– A hot glue gun

– A glue stick

– A hair dryer

– LOTS of crayons

Step 1: Choose your colors

Pick out the crayon colors you want and line them up at the top of the canvas until there is no more room left (I think it’s really cool to do rainbow!!)

Step 2: Glue the crayons

Take the hot glue gun and make a line of glue across the crayons. Quickly stick them onto the canvas (remember, hot glue dries fast). Be sure to stick them with the tips FACE DOWN

Step 3: Melting the wax

This step is probably the hardest. Not “hard” hard, but it takes a long time. Cover your wall and floor with newspaper and lean the canvas against the wall. Then take your blow dryer and blow it onto the canvas (work in sections, don’t do the whole thing at once). Sometimes the crayons may splatter, so make sure the area you are working in is covered with newspaper. This step will probably take about an hour, depending on how your hairdryer is, because it takes a while for the wax to melt all the way down to the bottom. But keep in mind that it’s worth it!!

This is how the finished result looks:

2 . Light Bulb Aquarium

The finished product of this DIY is SO COOL!!! I definetly recommend trying this one

You will need:

–  Bottle shaped glass light bulbs with screw on top (as many as you’d like)

– Pretty rocks and/or pebbles (available at your local craft store)

– Small glass floral beads (available at your local craft store)

– (optional) small Japanese Marimo moss ball (this gives it more of an “aquarium” look)

Step 1: Fill the lightbulb with decorations

Put the beads and rocks at the bottom of the lightbulb, in whichever design you like!

Step 2: Add the Marimo moss ball (if you’d like)

The moss ball just adds a touch of aquarium-ness (What is up with me and non-existing words? 😂)

Step 3: Adding Water

Fill up the bulb with water and then screw the cap on the lid. This step is pretty straightforward and simple 🙂

Repeat these steps for every aquarium you decide to make.

This is how the finished result looks:

3. Weekly Meal Planner

This one is good for people/families who have trouble finding a dinner that everyone will like 🙂 (it’s kind of long, but very creative and helpful)

You will need:

– Artist’s canvas (whichever size you’d like, but I prefer 11×16 inch)

– Spray adhesive

– Fabric

– Scissors

– Hot glue + hot glue gun

– Empty baking soda box

– Paint (or spray paint)

– Adhesive stickers (letters)

– Clothespins

Step 1: Spraying the canvas

Spray the canvas with spray adhesive. Use a lot, as you don’t want the fabric to separate from the canvas later

Step 2: Smoothing the fabric

Smooth the fabric over the top of the canvas. Make sure there aren’t any wrinkles!

Step 3: Stretching the fabric

Stretch the fabric over the sides of the canvas. Use the hot glue gun to secure the edges of the fabric to the back of the frame

Step 4: The baking soda box

Cut the empty baking soda box in half and coat all the sides with paint (you can use acrylic or spray paint)

Step 5: Gluing the box

Once the paint is dry, glue the box to the lower right corner of the canvas

Step 6: The cardstock

Cut out a piece of cardstock (3×5 inches). Stick the adhesive letters to the cardstock and then glue the cardstock to the canvas

Step 7: Clothespins

Take 7 clothes pins and glue them evenly to the left side of the canvas

Step 8: Labeling

Cut 7 circles out of the cardstock and then stick the first letter of each day of the week to each circle. Glue one circle to each clothespin

Step 9: The last step!!

Cut out a bunch of strips of  white cardstock and write one meal on each strip (brainstorm some meal ideas with your family!) then clip them to the clothespins

Heres what the end result looks like:

Hope you guys try these awesome DIY ideas!! They’re really fun and creative, and are a good art project if you’re feeling crafty.

If you do try one of these projects, let me know how it goes! How did the project turn out?? Just let me know in the comments!

Megaslicks BALM STAIN Lipstick Review

Hey guys!

Hope you’ve had a lovely week wherever you are in the world !!

Earlier this week I had to go to an event that was causal but you still feel like you have to dress nicely (if you’ve ever felt like that before).

I had my outfit all ready, all I needed was a touch of makeup. While searching through my makeup drawer, I came across this:

This is Megaslicks Wet ‘n Wild BALM STAIN Moisturizing Lip Color in Rico Mauve (yes it’s a long name, I know). At first glance, it may seem sort of dry, like it won’t really go onto your lips properly. But if you payed attention to the label, it said wet n’ wild.

I had some doubts about it at first, but when I put it on it was smooth and easily applied to my lips. To be honest, it felt more like a lip gloss. So… I think they invented lipgloss in lipstick form..?

Anyway. They are not kidding when they say balm stain.  The lipstick lasts a long time, which is a bonus. I only had to reapply the lipstick once throughout the entire day. ONCE !! And that was with me eating and drinking like I normally do.

Also, I really like the color. It’s a nice shade of pink, not too dark and not too light. The only bad thing I have to say about it is that at the end of the day when I looked in the mirror the pink was a little pinker then when I put it on in the morning, but I guess it dries that way.

Heres some more pictures:

This is it without the cap. You can see the dent I left in it when I used it 😂😁

This is the color of the lipstick. I don’t know if the color of my skin affects how it looks, but this is pretty much it.

Let’s just list out all the things about this product one more time:

– The lipstick is moist and easy to apply

– The lipstick stays a long time on your lips (yay!)

– The color is really pretty!!

I really like this lipstick, and recommend that you use it too. It’s great for casual events as well as day wear, and is a lovely color for spring!

Here’s a link  in case any of you are interested in buying it.

Let me know if you try this lipstick! What do you think? Just tell me in the comments 🙂
