Favorite Makeup Tools!

Hello everyone!

While doing my makeup recently, I took a look at all my brushes etc. and thought: how could we be doing makeup the way we do without these? I feel like we don’t acknowledge makeup tools enough (I am so weird lol), which is why I am writing this post! I want to “acknowledge” my three most favorite/useful makeup tools. Enjoy!:)

1. The Beauty Blender

Ah, the Beauty Blender. Where would we be without it? It makes it so easy to blend everything from under eye concealer to contour. My Beauty Blender is probably my favorite out of the three tools in this post. I have used a Beauty Blender ever since I started wearing makeup, and it just makes life so much easier! Beauty Blender, I love you.

2. e.l.f Ultimate Blending Brush

I absolutely love this brush. You can use it to blend everything – I mean, everything. And who doesn’t love blending? I also love e.l.f brushes, they are not that expensive, but get the job done really well.

3. e.l.f Eyeshadow “C” Brush

And here we are with another e.l.f brush. They are just so amazing! This brush is my favorite eyeshadow brush ever. It’s great for blending, helps make an awesome smoky look, and is just the best. It works for just about every look you’re going for! I love love love this brush!!

Curly Hair: How To Take Care Of It

Hello everyone!

As most of you know by now, I have super curly hair! For a while, I didn’t like my curly hair. I wanted straight, easy to brush hair like everyone else. I kept comparing my hair to other peoples hair. I kept thinking, ‘Why is mine frizzy and puffy while theirs is sleek and shiny?’ About a month ago, I read an article on how to embrace curly hair, and now I look at my hair in a whole new way. My curls are a special part of me, and it doesn’t matter if I don’t have straight hair! Having curly hair is unique, and I have learned to love and embrace having it. I decided to jump into action on getting my hair to look its best, so down below are my top three products for curly hair. These have helped me so much, and if anyone out there has curly hair also, I really do think these will help you too. Enjoy!:)

1. OGX Quenching + Coconut Curls Shampoo

This has become my favorite shampoo of all time. On the bottle, it says that this shampoo gives natural softness to your hair, tames frizz, and helps your curls look better then ever! It also smells amazing, like coconut and vanilla. This shampoo has helped me get rid of most of my frizz, and helps my curls look their best!

2. OGX Quenching + Coconut Curls Conditioner

This conditioner actually comes in a set with the shampoo, and is just as amazing as it.  It also has that amazing smell of coconut, and does the same thing as the shampoo, just as a conditioner. This is such a good conditioner, and helps my hair not have any tangles when I brush it after (which can be such a struggle for people with curly hair!) Definitely recommend using this conditioner!

3. Morocconoil Intense Curl Cream

This cream is my hair’s saving grace. After I wash and brush my hair, I massage this cream into my hair, and it makes my curls look even curlier. What happens when I brush my hair is I end up brushing the curls out, and without this cream my hair would just be puffy. When I use the cream, the curls return and look amazing! I love this cream!!

And that is how I take care of my curls! If you have any questions or comments please let me know by leaving a comment! Thanks for reading ❤

Favorite Nail Polish This Month!

Hello everyone!

If you didn’t know already, I love doing my nails. I’m not really into really bright shades (aka hot pink or orange) but I do love pastel blues/purples and nude nail colors. So today I have decided to share my top three favorite nail colors with you! The brand of nail polish these all are is Sally Hansen. I absolutely love Sally Hansen nail polish. It stays on for a while, its not that expensive, and overall it is just a really great brand. Anyway, lets get started! Enjoy 🙂

This is the Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in the shade Babe Blue. This is one of my favorite nail polishes ever! It is such a pretty shade of blue, perfect if you’re going for a cool-colored look. I think you can even wear this with something bright colored! For example, I have worn this color with a light orange dress, and the colors matched really well together. I love this color!!

This is the Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in the shade Big Teal (which I think is such a cute name!!) This color is darker than the Babe Blue shade, and is a nice teal color (hence the name). I think this is such a pretty color, its sort of like a happy shade of blue, and to me is perfect for summer. It just gives off that happy-laid back- vibe.

This is the last of my favorite nail polishes for this month, and it is the Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in the shade Lacey Lilac. Purple is my favorite color, especially lilac or light purple, so this shade was perfect for me! It is just such a beautiful shade of purple, and honestly, for me it goes with everything. What’s not to love about such a pretty color!!

So those are my top three nail polish colors this month! Hope you enjoyed the post! Let me know what you think in the comments! Thanks for reading ❤

New and Improved Skin Care Routine!

Hello everyone!

July and August have brought many new exciting things into our lives (the Olympics!!) and for me, new skin care products is one of them. In July, I kept breaking out, and wanted to control my acne, especially with school starting soon. So I did my research, and now have a new and improved skin routine that cleared up my skin in no time!

Below is a list of every product I use (how I use it and in the order of the routine). Enjoy 🙂

Step 1: Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash

This is the fist step of my face routine (it starts at night btw). The way I use this product is at the end of my shower, I’ll pump some out of the bottle and scrub it onto my face. I use it at the end of the shower because at the end of a shower, your pores will be open due to the heat and steam, so using the cleanser while your pores are open gives you a chance to get them clean. After I am done applying the cleanser, I wash it off and then close my pores using cold water.

Step 2: Clean&Clear Night Relaxing Deep Cleansing Face Wash

Although I have already used a face wash in my routine already, I think it’s a good idea to use another one, just so my skin gets extra clean. Its never fun getting pimples, and I like to prevent them in the best way I can. The way I apply this cleanser is the same as the other one: simply wash my face with warm water, scrub on the cleanser, and wash it off. After I wash it off, I pat my face dry (with a clean towel. Bacteria spreads quickly on towels, so it’s important to have a clean towel to dry your face with).

Step 3: Astringent

Astringent, I’ve heard, is kind of like toner. I don’t really know if it is, but that is what I use to deep-clean my pores (I don’t use toner, but this definitely works!) How I use it is I take a cotton ball or a cotton pad, squeeze some of the astringent onto the pad, and just gently rub it onto my face. Something to be noted though, is that if you have slightly dry skin, the astringent may slightly sting, but its nothing major. Also, the astringent is alcohol based, and does smell like rubbing alcohol. I don’t smell it once its on, but if that scent bothers you, you might want to skip this step.

Step 4: Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion

I am so in love with this Clinique face moisturizer. I tend to get really dry skin, but once I found this, my dry skin problems were solved. I use it every night, and it really does have ‘dramatically different’ results. My skin is now soft and moisturized thanks to this lotion!!

Step 5: Clean&Clear Persa-Gel 10, 10% Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Cream

A product with a big name, this cream has big results. I apply this cream to every blemish on my face at night (the cream is white, so I end up looking a bit weird at the end lol). That being said, this cream works like magic! This acne cream is maximum strength, so I often see clearer skin the morning after I apply it, which is great. It is a bit drying, but the moisturizer helps balance it out, so its all good! This product is a life saver, and I love using it!

Step 6: Clean&Clear Morning Burst Facial Cleanser

Moving on to the morning part of the face routine! This morning facial cleanser actually comes in a set with the night one, which is so great! The cleanser smells like oranges, makes me feel awake, and even has these bursting beads in them that are full of vitamin C (the beads burst upon contact with your face, giving your skin some vitamin C). Overall, this is one of my favorite facial cleansers!!

Step 7: St. Ives Apricot Face Scrub

This face scrub is actually an exfoliator, and it is just so amazing! It smells like apricots, has a bit of a grainy texture (that’s what exfoliates your skin), and leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh. I only use this scrub twice a week, because over-exfoliating can lead to dry skin, and this is a 110% on the exfoliation factor. However, exfoliating is really important! You have to get rid of all the dead skin that can build up and lead to more pimples. This face scrub prevents that, and I love using it!

Step 8: Neutrogena Healthy Defense Daily Moisturizer (with SPF 50)

And onto the final step of my face routine! I cannot even express how important it is to wear sunscreen. Although my skin looks normal now (and tanning looks good), too much sun can lead to dark spots and skin cancer. I used to not wear sunscreen, but then I read about getting skin cancer if you have too much sun exposure, so I jumped into action getting a good sunscreen. I chose this one because I trust and love Neutrogena, and this product is both a moisturizer and a sunscreen! Its not oily at all, and really gives me protection from the sun. I use this every single day, and recommend that you do also.

And that is the end of my face routine! I really hope this post helped you with skin problems (I know these products helped me), and if you do use these products let me know! I’d love to hear about how they helped you. Thank you so much for reading (I know this post was a bit long), and let me know what you think in the comments!
