Urban Decay Naked Palette Review!

Hello everyone!

Once again, I find myself getting caught up in the general flow of life and yet again never find any time to post!! This frustrates my because my blog is my creative outlet and I love publishing new things for you guys, so if anyone has any suggestions on how to balance blog + life, that would be greatly appreciated!

Anyway! Moving on to the main point of this post, recently I stepped into the secret garden we call Sephora and was immediately drawn to a bright pink Urban Decay sign with the most gorgeous palette I had seen pictured on it, and I went to have a look. This palette, as you may have already guessed, is the Urban Decay Naked eyeshadow palette!

I’ve heard only good comments on this palette, so naturally I had to purchase one to try out myself. Of course, I fell absolutely in love with every single shade, and I am so so happy I purchased it!

The Quality:

The quality of this palette is outstanding, I must say. Being a bit more on the pricey side, the Naked Palette is complete with a sort of felt-velvety feel on the case, and inside is complete with a mirror and a double-sided eyeshadow brush. Overall, I am very happy with the quality of the palette, the case it comes in, and the consistency of the colors.

The Colors!

As some of you may know, the Naked Palette is a nude palette, and most of its shadow colors range from nudist-brown to gold, with only a few dark shades. I am a huge fan of nude eyeshadows, so this palette was perfect for me. Some of my favorite colors so far are Sin (a shimmery pinky-brown), Buck (a gorgeous matte brown) and Half Baked (a beautiful shimmery gold that adds so much to your look).

I hope that if you do decide to purchase the Urban Decay Naked Palette, you love it as much as I do! Thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed the post! Leave a comment down below and tell me what you think!

Ready For 2017

Hello everyone!

First of all, can you believe that 2017 is here in 6 days? Just 6?! Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like this year has gone by so quickly??

So I’ve been thinking quite a lot about the end of 2016/beginning of 2017, and I have mixed emotions about it. 2016, in my opinion, was a bad year for the world. There. Just said it. There were bombings and terrorist attacks, the U.S the election and more. However, in my personal life, I’ve had a great year. I moved houses to a different part of town, made new friends, spent time with family who lived across the world, and started this blog (*internally cheers*).

So in the end of 2016, will I be glad that it’s over? Or will I be sad and wish it was longer? I don’t know. What I do know, is that I am ready for 2017, and what’s to come. I’ve become a lot more organized and prepared for the new year than I did last year.

This year I’m also setting realistic goals (or resolutions) for myself, and I hope to achieve them all. In 2017, I’m ready for a fresh start, and I hope that the world is too.

Comment down below what your new years resolutions are! Wishing everyone a happy new year and fresh starts for all of you if you need one. Thanks for reading my little rant about 2016!❤️

Mac Viva-Glam Lipstick Review

Hello everyone!

While browsing through my local Sephora just this week, I spotted a wall of Mac lipsticks – naturally, I just had to take a look. I chose a lipstick that is now one of my faves; the Mac Satin Lipstick in the shade Viva-Glam II.

Believe it or not, this was actually one of the first lipsticks I ever bought when I got into makeup. I completely forgot about it, but I’m so happy I found it again and have been ‘reunited’ with this amazing lipstick! So sit down and get ready for a nice, long review 😂 Enjoy!

This is the Mac Satin Lipstick in the shade Viva-Glam II. It’s a gorgeous nude-brownish shade, and adds a natural finish to your makeup look. Now I’m not gonna lie, it does look a bit used in this photo, only because I have been using it nonstop this week haha! Since I like more natural looking makeup, this goes perfectly with almost every look.

While wearing this lipstick, I only had to reapply a few times throughout the day, as this lipstick has a pretty normal ‘staying-rate,’ if you will. This lipstick cost $17, which, in my opinion, is a good price for a lipstick like this. It can be found at your local Mac store or beauty store (I got mine at Sephora).

This is what the lipstick looks like on. I don’t know if my skin color affects how it looks, but this is pretty much it! A gorgeous nude shade.

I’m so happy I found this lipstick again, and plan on wearing it many times in the future! If you have any questions or comments, let me know! Thanks for reading! ❤️

Favorite Makeup Tools!

Hello everyone!

While doing my makeup recently, I took a look at all my brushes etc. and thought: how could we be doing makeup the way we do without these? I feel like we don’t acknowledge makeup tools enough (I am so weird lol), which is why I am writing this post! I want to “acknowledge” my three most favorite/useful makeup tools. Enjoy!:)

1. The Beauty Blender

Ah, the Beauty Blender. Where would we be without it? It makes it so easy to blend everything from under eye concealer to contour. My Beauty Blender is probably my favorite out of the three tools in this post. I have used a Beauty Blender ever since I started wearing makeup, and it just makes life so much easier! Beauty Blender, I love you.

2. e.l.f Ultimate Blending Brush

I absolutely love this brush. You can use it to blend everything – I mean, everything. And who doesn’t love blending? I also love e.l.f brushes, they are not that expensive, but get the job done really well.

3. e.l.f Eyeshadow “C” Brush

And here we are with another e.l.f brush. They are just so amazing! This brush is my favorite eyeshadow brush ever. It’s great for blending, helps make an awesome smoky look, and is just the best. It works for just about every look you’re going for! I love love love this brush!!

And those are my top three favorite makeup tools! Hope you enjoyed the post! Like + comment to let me know what you think! Thanks for reading ❤

Curly Hair: How To Take Care Of It

Hello everyone!

As most of you know by now, I have super curly hair! For a while, I didn’t like my curly hair. I wanted straight, easy to brush hair like everyone else. I kept comparing my hair to other peoples hair. I kept thinking, ‘Why is mine frizzy and puffy while theirs is sleek and shiny?’ About a month ago, I read an article on how to embrace curly hair, and now I look at my hair in a whole new way. My curls are a special part of me, and it doesn’t matter if I don’t have straight hair! Having curly hair is unique, and I have learned to love and embrace having it. I decided to jump into action on getting my hair to look its best, so down below are my top three products for curly hair. These have helped me so much, and if anyone out there has curly hair also, I really do think these will help you too. Enjoy!:)

1. OGX Quenching + Coconut Curls Shampoo

This has become my favorite shampoo of all time. On the bottle, it says that this shampoo gives natural softness to your hair, tames frizz, and helps your curls look better then ever! It also smells amazing, like coconut and vanilla. This shampoo has helped me get rid of most of my frizz, and helps my curls look their best!

2. OGX Quenching + Coconut Curls Conditioner

This conditioner actually comes in a set with the shampoo, and is just as amazing as it.  It also has that amazing smell of coconut, and does the same thing as the shampoo, just as a conditioner. This is such a good conditioner, and helps my hair not have any tangles when I brush it after (which can be such a struggle for people with curly hair!) Definitely recommend using this conditioner!

3. Morocconoil Intense Curl Cream

This cream is my hair’s saving grace. After I wash and brush my hair, I massage this cream into my hair, and it makes my curls look even curlier. What happens when I brush my hair is I end up brushing the curls out, and without this cream my hair would just be puffy. When I use the cream, the curls return and look amazing! I love this cream!!

And that is how I take care of my curls! If you have any questions or comments please let me know by leaving a comment! Thanks for reading ❤

Favorite Nail Polish This Month!

Hello everyone!

If you didn’t know already, I love doing my nails. I’m not really into really bright shades (aka hot pink or orange) but I do love pastel blues/purples and nude nail colors. So today I have decided to share my top three favorite nail colors with you! The brand of nail polish these all are is Sally Hansen. I absolutely love Sally Hansen nail polish. It stays on for a while, its not that expensive, and overall it is just a really great brand. Anyway, lets get started! Enjoy 🙂

This is the Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in the shade Babe Blue. This is one of my favorite nail polishes ever! It is such a pretty shade of blue, perfect if you’re going for a cool-colored look. I think you can even wear this with something bright colored! For example, I have worn this color with a light orange dress, and the colors matched really well together. I love this color!!

This is the Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in the shade Big Teal (which I think is such a cute name!!) This color is darker than the Babe Blue shade, and is a nice teal color (hence the name). I think this is such a pretty color, its sort of like a happy shade of blue, and to me is perfect for summer. It just gives off that happy-laid back- vibe.

This is the last of my favorite nail polishes for this month, and it is the Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in the shade Lacey Lilac. Purple is my favorite color, especially lilac or light purple, so this shade was perfect for me! It is just such a beautiful shade of purple, and honestly, for me it goes with everything. What’s not to love about such a pretty color!!

So those are my top three nail polish colors this month! Hope you enjoyed the post! Let me know what you think in the comments! Thanks for reading ❤

New and Improved Skin Care Routine!

Hello everyone!

July and August have brought many new exciting things into our lives (the Olympics!!) and for me, new skin care products is one of them. In July, I kept breaking out, and wanted to control my acne, especially with school starting soon. So I did my research, and now have a new and improved skin routine that cleared up my skin in no time!

Below is a list of every product I use (how I use it and in the order of the routine). Enjoy 🙂

Step 1: Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash

This is the fist step of my face routine (it starts at night btw). The way I use this product is at the end of my shower, I’ll pump some out of the bottle and scrub it onto my face. I use it at the end of the shower because at the end of a shower, your pores will be open due to the heat and steam, so using the cleanser while your pores are open gives you a chance to get them clean. After I am done applying the cleanser, I wash it off and then close my pores using cold water.

Step 2: Clean&Clear Night Relaxing Deep Cleansing Face Wash

Although I have already used a face wash in my routine already, I think it’s a good idea to use another one, just so my skin gets extra clean. Its never fun getting pimples, and I like to prevent them in the best way I can. The way I apply this cleanser is the same as the other one: simply wash my face with warm water, scrub on the cleanser, and wash it off. After I wash it off, I pat my face dry (with a clean towel. Bacteria spreads quickly on towels, so it’s important to have a clean towel to dry your face with).

Step 3: Astringent

Astringent, I’ve heard, is kind of like toner. I don’t really know if it is, but that is what I use to deep-clean my pores (I don’t use toner, but this definitely works!) How I use it is I take a cotton ball or a cotton pad, squeeze some of the astringent onto the pad, and just gently rub it onto my face. Something to be noted though, is that if you have slightly dry skin, the astringent may slightly sting, but its nothing major. Also, the astringent is alcohol based, and does smell like rubbing alcohol. I don’t smell it once its on, but if that scent bothers you, you might want to skip this step.

Step 4: Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion

I am so in love with this Clinique face moisturizer. I tend to get really dry skin, but once I found this, my dry skin problems were solved. I use it every night, and it really does have ‘dramatically different’ results. My skin is now soft and moisturized thanks to this lotion!!

Step 5: Clean&Clear Persa-Gel 10, 10% Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Cream

A product with a big name, this cream has big results. I apply this cream to every blemish on my face at night (the cream is white, so I end up looking a bit weird at the end lol). That being said, this cream works like magic! This acne cream is maximum strength, so I often see clearer skin the morning after I apply it, which is great. It is a bit drying, but the moisturizer helps balance it out, so its all good! This product is a life saver, and I love using it!

Step 6: Clean&Clear Morning Burst Facial Cleanser

Moving on to the morning part of the face routine! This morning facial cleanser actually comes in a set with the night one, which is so great! The cleanser smells like oranges, makes me feel awake, and even has these bursting beads in them that are full of vitamin C (the beads burst upon contact with your face, giving your skin some vitamin C). Overall, this is one of my favorite facial cleansers!!

Step 7: St. Ives Apricot Face Scrub

This face scrub is actually an exfoliator, and it is just so amazing! It smells like apricots, has a bit of a grainy texture (that’s what exfoliates your skin), and leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh. I only use this scrub twice a week, because over-exfoliating can lead to dry skin, and this is a 110% on the exfoliation factor. However, exfoliating is really important! You have to get rid of all the dead skin that can build up and lead to more pimples. This face scrub prevents that, and I love using it!

Step 8: Neutrogena Healthy Defense Daily Moisturizer (with SPF 50)

And onto the final step of my face routine! I cannot even express how important it is to wear sunscreen. Although my skin looks normal now (and tanning looks good), too much sun can lead to dark spots and skin cancer. I used to not wear sunscreen, but then I read about getting skin cancer if you have too much sun exposure, so I jumped into action getting a good sunscreen. I chose this one because I trust and love Neutrogena, and this product is both a moisturizer and a sunscreen! Its not oily at all, and really gives me protection from the sun. I use this every single day, and recommend that you do also.

And that is the end of my face routine! I really hope this post helped you with skin problems (I know these products helped me), and if you do use these products let me know! I’d love to hear about how they helped you. Thank you so much for reading (I know this post was a bit long), and let me know what you think in the comments!

New Face Products!

Hello everyone!

First of all, I am so sorry I haven’t posted anything in like, forever. I have been so so busy lately!! But don’t worry, I most likely will not miss any more posts from now on.

Second of all, I have just received a whole bunch of new face products (which is a HUGE relief because my skin gets so dry during the summer) and I would like to share them with you! I haven’t used them yet, but I will just describe what each product is and what it does. Enjoy! 🙂

This is the Oil Essentials Omega 3,6,9 Evening Primrose Serum. This comes in a set of three, and they each do different things. For example, this ones purpose is to revitalize. As soon as I smelled this I was in heaven. It smelled like roses and something sweet, and as you all know, I’m a sucker for things that smelled good, so you can only guess how I felt about this product. According to Oil Essentials, the ‘beautiful benefits’ of using this product are: it helps maintain the skin’s natural hydration levels, has been used for reducing skin blemishes, redness, and gives even skin coloration, protects hair against breakage (yes, it can be used for your hair also) and delivers essential nutrients to nails, hands, and feet. Can’t wait to use this product!!

This is the next serum in this Oil Essentials trio, and this one nourishes. It is the Seabuckthorn Berry & Borage. The scent of this is sort of a mix of berry and a bit of tangy-ness. It’s a very hard scent to explain (I so wish smell vision existed right now!!), but leaves you very calm and relaxed. According to Oil Essentials, the purposes of this product are: it has a lot of  vitamins in it, it helps restore softness and moisture to dry skin while helping to fight inflammation, and reduces the effect of UV damage. I am very very excited to use this!

This is the last of the serums in this set, and it’s purpose is to soothe. This is the Lavender & Rose Hip (I love that name!) and it smells like lavender (obviously) and like a garden. When I was little, we had this garden full of flowers in my backyard, and it smells like that combined with lavender. According to Oil Essentials, the benefits of this product are: it provides vitamins A, C, and B-carotene, and is a natural antiseptic that helps make the skin’s oil production normal (because of the lavender). I am so in love with this already, and can’t wait to try it!

Last but not least, we have the Safe Harbor Natural Moisturizing Sunscreen Lotion (with SPF 50). I happen to love products that are 2-in-1, such as a sunscreen that is also a moisturizer (like this one), so this product is great for me. I opened this just to smell, and it had a really fresh smell to it, almost like spring. So excited to use this!

Well, that’s it for today’s post. Thanks so much for reading!! Comment down below and let me know what you think.
